Off Shore

In 1990, Submar introduced precast concrete mat technology to the Gulf of Mexico. Before that, operators in the Gulf used very inefficient sand/cement bags for pipeline crossings. Since Submar introduced the precast concrete mat technology, sand/cement bag pipeline crossings have become almost obsolete. For more than two decades now, Submar mats have been used for pipeline separation, stabilization and protection.

On Shore

Just like offshore, Submar’s precast concrete mats are used for pipeline protection as well as general erosion control and shoreline stabilization. They have been proven as a great longterm solution to alternatives like riprap, gabions, structural concrete, grout mats and other hard-armor protection products. The mat is constructed of flexible, interlocking concrete blocks connected by cables. Mats arrive on the job site fully constructed for easy installation.
